Our Story

The brand was established in 1996 by Robin Collins, offering beautiful embroidered blouses.  In the past 17 years, the brand has grown significantly and has developed a loyal following. Collins, now well established as a core supplier to the independent boutiques, offers an extensive ladieswear range and is renowned for its exclusive, quality apparel.   The design aesthetic is inspired by timeless, ageless collections that close the generation gap and flatter the female silhouette.

Barrington was established in the 1970s by the late Peter Barrington. He was a passionate designer who was driven to achieve the best fitting pants for ladies.  By the 1980s Barrington became one of the leading selling brands in the retail industry. Barrington Jeans are designed to fit well, look great and feel comfortable.  Each Style is individually made to flatter a specific type of physique and target problem areas like the muffin top and gap in the curve of the back.  The “Barrington” range also offers exclusive “in- between sizing” i.e. 33/35/37 etc in addition to standard sizing.  This ensures that you will always get the perfect fit.

In 2013, Barrington and Collins, seeing synergies between the two brands merged and Collins now manufactures Barrington under licence. Being a family owned business, we value our customers and place a high emphasis on customer service. We view them as part of our extended family and this personal touch sets us apart from other manufacturers.  All manufacturing takes place in Durban and we are proud supporters of the local clothing industry.

We produce two ranges a year - winter and summer, which are sold by our agents to independent boutiques throughout South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Contact us or one of our agents for your nearest local stockist.

In 2015 we opened our own retail outlet, Willow, in Windermere Centre in Durban.  We are proudly local and besides our Collins and Barrington ranges, we also stock quality apparel and accessories made in South Africa.
